It Takes Three: The Triad of Relationship
How to Facilitate Relationship in Motion  (RIM)

Pre-Symposium Workshop
Thurday, May 15th, 2014
10am-4:30pm
$209, Includes Lunch

What does “holding the sacred space of possibility” mean and how do we as facilitators create and maintain that through all of the horse/client interactions?

  •  Are you able to stay balanced in your head, your heart and your hara as you hold the space for the horse and the client?
  •  Are your client’s able to balance their own thoughts, feelings, and actions to generate effective outcomes in all arenas of their lives?
  •  We will practice checking in with our bodies, our internal “sensing device”, to notice when our own agendas are getting in the way of the client’s and horse’s relationship, so we can most effectively support our clients in finding that inner balance that creates success.

46463_149417115077591_4240034_nThe didactic presentation and discussion will cover the latest in neuroscience and its applications to our work with the horses and humans. Participants will be given examples and practice on how to help the client differentiate between FEAR (outside threat) and VULNERABILITY (inside feelings) to allow possibilities for lasting change.

The sessions with the horses will demonstrate and apply the concepts discussed. You will understand and be able to take the limbic connection created through the first interaction between the client and the horse and assist them in applying this to their lives outside of the round pen.

The session will not be about a particular modality or technique but will be about enhancing your personal awareness and attitude as you show up in your equine work so you can take your facilitation skills to the next level.

As a facilitator we will be a part of this triad of relationship by holding the sacred space and allowing the natural process of relationship to emerge in the horse/human bond. As we pay attention to relationship and connection, partnership and collaboration, we can be a participant in this dynamic system of connection. The “healing relationship” itself becomes the catalyst for change.

You will discover:

  • How to recognize how your own internal state, feelings and ideas affect the horse/client relationship.
  • An increased understanding of how Limbic Connection between horses and humans creates opportunities for Limbic Resonance, Limbic Regulation and Limbic Revision
  • Ways to apply this connection through exercises with the horses to maintain balance in the Head (thought & intention); Heart (feeling and emotion); and Hara (power & action) through all of the horse and human interactions.
  • How to most effectively flow through the “Meet & Greet”, Reflective, and Active aspects of the equine work to generate maximum impact for your clients to integrate into their daily lives.

Join in this wonderful one-day opportunity to explore how to balance your own head, heart, and hara so you can most effectively support your clients to stay in relationship as they take action toward their heartfelt goals! Feel the power of the horse-human bond to create limbic revision that makes a lasting difference in the day to day lives of yourself and your clients.
